Bonnie offers Breech Balancing sessions. These are 2 -3 hour sessions that include informing you of all the options for breech birth in the Boston area, coaching you around your specific breech presentation, breech release bodywork both on the massage table and on a breech slant board, and coaching to make sure you understand the 6 day breech protocol for breech balancing. Please purchase and read "Helping your breech baby turn" ebook before your session. (or the When baby lies sideways ebook if you have a side lying breech)

We offer add on services to our breech sessions, clients can add on a moxa session or a placeholder session. Placeholder is part of the bodywork session, done on the slant board and floor cushions, that allows us to help release stuck breech presentations and help give the baby more space. We do not use force or perform ECVs. We can do release work to support your ECV.
Moxa is an herbal stick (think large incense) that creates ease in the sacral restrictions and by working on specific acupressure points to increase fetal movement. We both give clients a full moxa session and send you home with moxa for at home work. If you are already seeing an acupuncturist you probably do not need this addition.
Please book a Breech Balancing session first. Breech release sessions are only for follow up sessions. We do also offer virtual support sessions. You are welcome to email us at bostonhypnobirth@gmail.com with additional questions or if you are past 36 weeks and need a breech session more urgently and the online calendar does not have more immediate availability. Please also contact us if you cannot afford our rates, we do have some equity rates available.
Clients are welcome to talk to us about low income options if needed! We believe in access to care.

Deep therapeutic and relaxing massage for all phases of pregnancy. Help your body carry and nurture your baby!
with new clients we take the time to explore wellness, questions about sleep and birth plans, aches and pains, and tools for self care. Please plan on around 20 minutes of conversation and 60-70 minutes of massage, side form (we do not use belly cutouts, they are harmful on the round ligament).
Typically 60 minutes of massage, although we do ask that you leave 75 minutes as sometimes we run over.
This is typically a session to share a birth story, look at how your body may have been impacted, what kind of healing you are going through and how to best support you. We will do some slow and deep compressions, some acupressure and typically a little Sotai to reset your tailbone.
Continued Postpartum massage sessions to help the body heal after birth and to help with the stress of breast feeding and nurturing a new born.
This is a flat rate of $75 for any of the above services for low income clients.
24 hour cancellation policy except in medical emergency or labor
From Evidencebasedbirth.com:
The program report on HypnoBirthing® was published in 2012 by Swencionis. It’s very difficult to find this paper online, but I did receive a copy from the author a few years ago. They found that HypnoBirthing® parents who completed the survey had a low rate of medical interventions, including a low rate of epidural use at only 28%. 31% of birthing parents said that they found late labor to be comfortable or mostly comfortable, 25% described late labor as uncomfortable, and 44% said that they found late labor to be painful or extremely painful. They defined late labor as eight to 10 centimeters or being in transition. 74% of parents said that they agreed or strongly agreed that HypnoBirthing® helped them have a more comfortable birth.

"First off, Bonnie is amazing. Her patience and ability to explain things was second to none, which is exactly what we needed after long work days. She kept the classes interesting and really seems to love what she does and genuinely cared about us and our success. Her class was more than just a collection of techniques that could be read in a book. From her we gained a very strong sense of confidence that we could have a positive birth experience and learned so much that we were excited to share with other expecting parents. It is amazing how little we really knew about childbirth, outside of what we have seen on TV and heard (in bed, on your back, medicated, yet screaming in pain) ... and this wasn't even our first birth! My husband and I felt fully prepared and actually excited to go through the birthing process this time around and to use the techniques we learned while taking hypnobirthing classes with Bonnie. Yes ... my husband too. He learned so much and really was my greatest support during the entire labor/birth experience. I referred to him as my Moula (man doula). During my labor with our first, he felt helpless and unable to meaningfully support me, however after these classes, he did an awesome job supporting me through the birth of our second, both physically and emotionally. He felt a big sense of purpose during the labor which he credits our training with Bonnie. During my short 6-hour labor, I felt completely in control of my body and my breathing, and succeeded with my goal of having a completely natural delivery. In addition, unlike my first birth which was medicated, traumatizing, and resulted in a very long recovery process, this birth was empowering, and in-line with my birth plan. I leveraged many of the coping strategies, benefited from the relaxed state the hypnosis scripts provided my body, and best yet, my recovery has been extremely easy. Bonnie, sincerely and from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! We are so grateful for everything we learned with you, the kindness and care you treated us with, and the confidence you instilled in us. Everything went so well and we wouldn't have been able to do it without you."

Bonnie is fantastic and full of knowledge. I have been suffering from gestational carpal tunnel in both hands and the massage helped to relieve some of the discomfort. She also recommended sleeping on a wedge pillow to alleviate pressure off my arms from sleeping on my sides. That has been a game changer. I am actually able to sleep again! I highly recommend a prenatal massage with Bonnie!

I’ve tried three different prenatal masseuses and Bonnie is by far the most enjoyable and most effective. Highly recommended!

My husband and I are so happy to have had the opportunity to have Bonnie by our side for the birth of our second son. Her presence was so calming and there is absolutely no way I would have made it through without her. She knew exactly when and where to massage and apply counter pressure, and provided constant reminders to breathe and relax into contractions. Throughout labor, she suggested different techniques and positions to help me cope with the pain and pressure. Thanks to Bonnie, I was able to stick to my goal of avoiding any form of medical intervention and best of all, my husband was able to remain calm and confident and provide me with the support I needed from him. If I can convince my husband to have a third, first thing I’ll do is call up Bonnie!
-Naomi
It’s hard to put down in words for much it meant to have Bonnie by our side through the incredible transformative experience of a first pregnancy and birth. At the end, we got this incredible baby but along the way but there were points of deep emotion, pain, and fear. Bonnie was there from the second trimester with massage, her calming demeanor, and thoughtful teaching (a particular favorite was when she taught my partner some techniques of prenatal massage).
For the birth itself, it’s hard to imagine how we would have made it without her. Like so many, my birth story was not what I planned. Yet through that unpredictability, Bonnie was a constant. She had firm well placed touch, supportive words, and clear helpful instructions for both me and my partner. I vividly remember the comfort of the pressure of her hands on my back and hips when everything else felt like a whirl of chaos.
I recommend Bonnie without hesitation. She was a guide and grounding support in pregnancy, delivery, and for a spectacular post-partum massage. We will certainly work with her again for any future pregnancies.

Having Bonnie Rovics as my doula made me feel safe throughout my whole pregnancy. I had a high risk pregnancy, but with the knowledge she provided me I was able to choose the right hospital for me halfway through my pregnancy. When she told me about Hypnobirthing I knew right away that was the way I wanted to experience birthing my daughter. The weekly pregnancy massages she gave me were therapy at the same time. She helped me create my birth preferences in a realistic way. By the end of my pregnancy I had no fear, I knew what my body was capable of and that I had the support I needed when the time came to give birth. Luckily after I was out of risk (35 weeks), I was ready to have my baby in the Mount Auburn Hospital. It was peaceful, safe, secure and a loving atmosphere as Bonnie made sure all my needs were met. Bonnie and I made it to the hospital at the same time and an hour later my daughter was born. I had the comfort of laboring at home and going to the hospital just to deliver my baby.
I'm 100% sure that without Bonnie Rovics by my side in this journey my experience would not have been the same. I knew exactly what to expect even though it was my first time having a baby. If I have another baby, Bonnie will be birthing my baby in my house now that I have experienced the most natural way to give birth. I'm sure everyone who chooses Bonnie as their Doula will have a positive and beautiful experience. She is open, reliable, respectful, mindful, caring and compassionate.

We have a home office
I own a lovely home in Jamaica Plain, Boston, a couple blocks from Stony Brook T on the orange line. My office is in my home and is a dedicated space for massage and perinatal coaching and wellness. I hope to have a center some day, but for now we work out of the house and rent space locally for group classes.
Do you have scholarships?
- While we don't have a scholarship fund, we do have low income rates for low income qualified clients. We believe in accessibility of our services and welcome you to contact us for a private conversation about your financial needs.
How far in advance do I have to book you?
For HypnoBirthing class we recommend starting between 28-32 weeks if possible. If you are farther along you may want to talk to us about an excelerated private class. For our Doula services it's never too late to inquire, however we have to space out births enough to try not to overlap two clients, so there is a limit to our services per calendar month.
Do you take insurance?
Yes we take Mass health and are able to work with Carrot. We can take FSA cards and provide receipts for reimbursement if you have insurance that will cover care.
How do I sign up for a prenatal massage?
